Yeah, I have no issue with dark shit, and S2 is my fav series of Skins ever. I’m a total sucker for well-crafted angst. I have a serious issue with previously relateable shows (that I adored) with mostly real teenagers in moderately exaggerated situations turning into insanely unrealistic shows about exaggerated teenagers in ridiculous, implausible situations.

If I wanted to watch Gossip Girl, I’d watch Gossip Girl, yanno?

I just don’t think it should be called Skins anymore, that’s all. Call it something else and admit to us all that old Skins is dead and gone and so be it. I tolerated it in S4, but undoing S5 and continuing to pretend this douchery is a continuation of Skins’ soul and vision is insulting, imo.
